"Ubuntu" Ubuntu (Zulu pronunciation: [ùɓúntʼù]) is a Bantu term meaning "humanity". It's translated as "I am because we are" (also "I am because you are"), or "humanity towards others".

At Lhaude we believe in a universal trond of sharing that connects all humanity, an authentic individual human being is part of a larger and more significant refational communal, societal environmental, and spiritual world.

Our mission is to use creativity as a tool to contribute to the social and economic growth of the African continent. The foundation also sims to support emerging designers, nurture talent, and showcase the diversity and richness of African fashion to the world.

We strive to build a sustainable and inclusive fashion ecosystem that celebrates the cultural heritage and creativity of African fashion, while also driving economic growth and social impact in local communities.

Lhaude House: A Home for African Creativity and Innovation

Lhaude House is a visionary hub for creative entrepreneurs across Africa designed to foster innovation and collaboration in the fashion, lifestyle, and craftsmanship sectors.

The Leap Project:

The Leap Project is a talent development initiative focused on capacity building and education for young fashion entrepreneurs. It acts as an incubator program where participants gain essential skills for sustaining successful fashion careers.

The Leap Project 1.0 which kicked off in March 2021, featured an 8-week program, mentorship, and 12 participants, ending with the selection of the top 5.

The Leap Project 2.0, which happened in 2022, included 50 participants, a 6-week training, and a 1-month internship, with the top 5 receiving mini grants, exhibition opportunities, and industry internships.

Grassroot Initiatives:

In 2023, the Grassroots Capacity and Skill Development Initiative empowers low-income women and youths through hands-on fashion training. In collaboration with JEK Production Hub, a free workshop on Pattern Drafting & Production for T-shirts, hoodies, and jackets equipped 20 participants with valuable skills to kickstart careers or business.
